The project
I co-founded PKTraffic while studying at KTH and built its traffic-video collection, storage and search platform. The system covered roughly 3,000 highway cameras and captured approximately 45,000 traffic incidents.
My contribution
I developed the collection pipeline, website and internal tools for locating and reviewing footage. The system combined camera streams with traffic-event records and provided searchable incident views and operational monitoring.
Engineering work
The work involved handling unreliable external streams, organizing tens of terabytes of footage, and making recordings retrievable through an internal interface. I built the recording and processing workflows, storage integration, APIs and review tools.
Outcome
We built a working technical system, but the company did not generate revenue during my involvement. My development involvement ended in September 2024.
The camera count describes coverage of the collection system, not camera ownership or simultaneous recording of every camera. The engineering scope is separate from commercial adoption.
