The project
CloudCanvas is a fork of Excalidraw. My work focuses on the surrounding hosted application: authentication, workspace organization, persistence and sharing controls.
What I added
The application uses Cognito for authentication, an API Gateway and Lambda backend, S3 for drawings and assets, and DynamoDB for metadata. Workspaces organize drawings into projects and folders, with controls for managing share links.
Engineering decision
I kept the editor close to upstream Excalidraw and separated the hosted product features from its internals. That makes the boundary between the existing editor and my additions explicit and helps limit fork drift.
Scope
Share links are distinct from real-time multi-user editing. The drawing engine is upstream Excalidraw work; the hosted application and cloud integrations described above are my additions. Hosted workspace access requires sign-in.
